Steve has over a decade of experience in the areas of antimicrobial stewardship, infectious diseases, and clinical pharmacy management. He has practiced in a variety of settings, including government regulatory agency, academic medical centers, and community hospitals. His practice interests include antimicrobial stewardship, quality improvement, population health, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research, and post-graduate training. In his previous roles, he had served as residency program directors to mentor and train the next generation of clinicians.
Steve earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a minor in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and completed an infectious diseases pharmacy residency at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in St Petersburg, Florida. He is board certified in pharmacotherapy with added qualifications in infectious diseases. He initiated the Atlanta Area Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists Network to promote knowledge dissemination and collaboration across health systems. He is also an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists.
